Our new home

Well after 2 years we have finally purchased a home. It is brand new so everything is nice and clean…. It has that unused feeling… I must stress that this place is not like Epping crescent.... the yard is small and will only take 10 minutes to mow.... not like the 5 hrs it took at Epping. This weekend we went to purchase the appliances… the place came with a dish washer, extractor fan and garburator. We had to choose the rest…. I got the gas stove and Glynn the fridge with ice and water in the door. A fair trade off at the end of the day. Glynn hates gas. We went down to the house today to measure for blinds…. Justin came with to help and that made the whole task easier…. Going to cost a bomb but what can you do? We also planned the basement suite…. We will do most of the work ourselves so the cost should be reduced….. then a good mortgage helper from renting it out. Justin and Jason are over the moon about having a new home. It has been difficult for them leaving Africa and starting over againin a new country. And living in a rented home has not been easy... probably because it is not home.... all our furniture and sentimental things are still in storage......... that is still in the container... but will be here shortly... :-)

This is a picture taken from the family lounge into the kitchen. It is very open and I am sure that we will spend many hours cooking up a storm. Note the wine rack in the island. We will put that to good use with the SA wine and we will definitely be putting the 2 bottles of wine Kathy gave the boys into that rack…..

This picture is taken from the front door looking towards the second lounge, behind the steps and the kitchen, door on left
